Benjamin Earl Howen III

Wisconsinite, exploring the depths of self-expression and subconscious extraction.

The Artist

Exploring a spectrum of styles, techniques, and mediums, his works traverse the ideas of thought extraction, pareidolia, emotional responses, and therapeutic creation. Much of his work is influenced by artists such as Picasso, De Kooning, Basquiat, and Pollock. The artist Implements a meditative creation process of abstract extraction that begins with initial strokes executed with a limited purpose, additional intuitive marks build the basis for images beginning to form, and continued attention renders them to a point of recognition. His color choices are regularly saturated, vivid, and vibrant.

“The images in my work are brought to life by the energy and emotion I give them; extracted from me, existing because I created them.”
